Chippendales Performers File Labor Complaint Against Management After Unionizing
Chippendales dancers have filed an unfair labor practices complaint with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) following their October 2023 decision to join the Actors' Equity Association union.

The complaint alleges that Chippendales Entertainment, LLC engaged in illegal union-busting tactics and retaliation, including forcing all dancers to reaudition for their positions. Performers known to support unionization were reportedly dismissed during this process.
Actors' Equity Association president Brooke Shields condemned these actions as illegal and called for immediate reinstatement of discharged dancers. The union is seeking an NLRB injunction to recognize them as the dancers' official bargaining representative.
Key developments:
- Chippendales is relocating from Rio Hotel & Casino to the Mat Franco Theater at The Linq on January 14
- Shows run Tuesday through Sunday, with double performances on Fridays and Saturdays
- The 2025 tour is scheduled from March through November
The performers argue they are significantly underpaid compared to other Las Vegas Strip entertainers. The Actors' Equity Association, representing over 51,000 professional actors and stage managers, is pushing for negotiations to secure improved wages and benefits that reflect the dancers' world-class status.
"The Chippendales dancers are incredibly talented professionals who have built the world-class reputation of the company," stated Shields, emphasizing the union's commitment to supporting the performers through this labor dispute.
The NLRB's Region 28 office is currently reviewing the complaint while the union continues advocating for fair treatment and proper recognition of the dancers' right to organize.
