Horseshoe Casino Baltimore experienced temporary closure due to significant water damage, with plans to reopen at noon on Monday. The incident required immediate evacuation of guests and employees after pipes burst, creating a hole in the ceiling above the 122,000-square-foot gaming floor.

The water damaged ceiling and affected areas near gambling machines on the casino floor, which houses over 1,600 slot machines and nearly 100 table games. Casino management is actively working on repairs, though specific damage costs haven't been disclosed.

This incident follows similar water-related closures at other U.S. casinos, including:

  • Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack (April 2024) - Ohio River flooding
  • Multiple Las Vegas properties (July 2022) - Flash flooding affected Planet Hollywood, Circa, and Caesars Palace

The Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, one of Maryland's three full-scale casinos, underwent major renovations two years ago to boost performance. The property's strategic location places it near major attractions including M&T Bank Stadium, Camden Yards, and Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

The casino administration has apologized for the inconvenience and continues to work toward swift reopening.
