A Georgia state senator suggests Trump voters in the state strongly support sports betting legalization, citing recent electoral and polling data. State Sen. Brandon Beach (R-District 21) points to an overwhelming 81% of Republican primary voters favoring a statewide vote on gaming expansion.

Georgia remains one of just three top-20 population states, alongside California and Texas, without regulated sports betting. Despite multiple legislative attempts, sports betting bills have repeatedly failed to pass, including a recent effort earlier this year.

The state's potential market significance has drawn attention from gaming operators, as both California and Texas face significant hurdles to legalization in the near term. Governor Brian Kemp, while historically conservative on gambling expansion, has reportedly shown signs of flexibility on the issue.

Sen. Beach warns that Georgia risks losing major sporting events if it maintains its anti-betting stance, potentially affecting relationships with FIFA, the NFL, and NCAA. He notes that Georgians are already actively seeking betting opportunities, with GeoComply reporting a 100% increase in Georgia residents attempting to access legal sportsbooks in other states.

The push for legalization comes as data shows Georgia ranks among the top locations for searches related to offshore betting sites, indicating strong existing demand despite current prohibitions.
