The platform now covers the CFP semifinals and championship game scheduled for January 20 in Atlanta, as well as the AFC and NFC conference championship games set for January 26.

Event contracts differ from traditional sports betting by functioning as financial derivatives. Traders can speculate on "Yes" or "No" outcomes, with contract prices fluctuating based on projected results. Winners receive payouts in US dollars, though uniquely, Crypto.com allows purchases using any of its 350 listed cryptocurrencies.

The expansion follows Crypto.com's initial event contract launch two weeks ago, operated through Crypto.com | Derivatives North America under CFTC regulation. This makes it the first platform to enable cryptocurrency-based event contract trading.

The growing popularity of event contracts, as seen on platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket during the 2024 presidential election, stems from their similarity to traditional derivatives. Unlike standard sports bets that settle immediately after games, event contract values can fluctuate over time, offering extended engagement and potential profits.

Major financial services providers, including Interactive Brokers and Robinhood, are also entering the event contracts market, with some considering expansion into broader sports betting opportunities.
