Pizza Hut has faced criticism in the UK for offering free online casino spins with food deliveries, raising concerns about responsible gambling practices.

The promotion, which ran briefly in November, automatically offered customers up to 300 free spins through Free Spins Loops, a casino promotions company owned by Digital Adventures. The offer appeared during checkout with no age verification or gambling addiction screening.

The issue came to light when recovering gambling addict Ben Jones highlighted it on social media. Jones, who served three years in prison for embezzling £370,000 due to gambling addiction, expressed concern about receiving gambling promotions with his pizza order.

Digital Adventures confirmed the promotion was removed on November 28, just one day after Jones's social media post. The company declined to disclose whether Pizza Hut received a share of customer losses from the promotion.

Former Conservative Party chairman Iain Duncan Smith MP criticized the promotion, calling it evidence of "out of control gambling advertising" and advocating for stricter regulations.

Similar concerns have emerged in the US, where Pizza Hut has partnerships with gambling companies like BetMGM and FanDuel. Customers have reported receiving unsolicited gambling promotions, including offers of first-bet matches up to $1,000, with their food orders.

The incident highlights growing concerns about the intersection of food delivery services and gambling promotions, particularly regarding consumer protection and responsible gambling measures.
