Mississippi Officials Warn of Fake Beau Rivage Online Casino Ads on Social Media
Social media platforms are currently displaying fraudulent advertisements claiming online casino gaming is available in Mississippi. These deceptive ads, appearing on X, Instagram, and Facebook, falsely use the Beau Rivage Casino's name and likeness to promote an illegal gambling app.
The fake advertisements promise new users a $1,000 welcome bonus and 100 free slot spins through what they claim is an "official Beau Rivage app."

Both Beau Rivage and the Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) have confirmed these advertisements are fraudulent. Jay McDaniel, MGC executive director, and Mary Cracchiolo Spain, MGM's regional PR director, explicitly stated these are unauthorized scams.
Important facts about gaming in Mississippi:
- Online casino gaming is not legal
- Mobile sports betting is only permitted within Beau Rivage property limits
- Only seven U.S. states currently allow online casinos
- The state legislature failed to expand online sports betting in May
- Another attempt at online sports betting legislation is expected in 2025
The American Gaming Association (AGA) warns that illegal offshore gaming operators:
- Provide no consumer protections
- Lack fair gameplay guarantees
- Offer no security for personal and financial data
- Often operate from jurisdictions like Anjouan, the Caribbean, Malta, and the Philippines
- Target U.S. customers through paid advertising despite being illegal
The AGA continues to urge the U.S. Justice Department to take stronger action against these illegal gambling operations to protect American consumers and enforce federal regulations.
