SWAT teams and negotiators were called to the scene. After failed surrender attempts, officers used explosives to breach the door. Reyes charged at officers while holding an unloaded shotgun, leading Officer Zachary Adam to fire a fatal shot. A handgun was also found in Reyes' possession.
