The rapid transition, announced in October 2023, expands the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy to twelve Strip properties. The collaboration allows members of both Marriott Bonvoy and MGM Rewards programs to access enhanced experiences and rewards across their combined resort portfolio.
As part of the rebranding, the property will undergo several upgrades:
- Room renovations
- Delano Beach Club transformation into W Wet Deck
- Skyfall rooftop lounge refresh (maintaining its name)
The non-gaming hotel's transformation aligns with W Hotels' reputation for luxury and appeal to younger demographics. Mandalay Bay COO Travis Lunn emphasized the brand's celebrated global status and unique style, anticipating further developments over the next two years.
This change coincides with other MGM developments, including the rebranding of NoMad at Park MGM, following Hilton's acquisition of Sydell Group. These updates reflect the ongoing competition among Las Vegas operators to maintain market leadership through strategic property enhancements.
The W Las Vegas joins other prestigious MGM properties in the Marriott partnership, including Aria, Bellagio, and the Cosmopolitan, strengthening the hospitality giants' presence on the Las Vegas Strip.
