A Texas woman's $5 million lottery win turned into legal trouble after authorities arrested her on suspicion of theft and fraud. Arthurica Jackson claimed the jackpot from a $50 "Luxe" scratch-off game on November 5, but subsequent investigations revealed potential fraudulent activity.

Jackson, reportedly an employee at QuickPump store in Hearne where the winning ticket was sold, faces charges of lottery fraud exceeding $10,000 and theft of property exceeding $300,000. She was taken to Robertson County Jail but has since posted the $300,000 bond ($150,000 for each charge) and awaits a court hearing.

While specific details remain under investigation, lottery fraud often involves store clerks deceiving customers about winning tickets. Clerks can check if a ticket is a winner by scanning the barcode, potentially allowing dishonest employees to falsely claim tickets as losing ones and keep them for themselves.

A similar case occurred in Tennessee when gas station attendant Meet Patel attempted to claim a $1 million prize. Security footage revealed Patel had checked a customer's winning tickets, returned only a $40 winner, and secretly kept the million-dollar ticket for himself after retrieving it from the trash.

The investigation into Jackson's case continues as authorities work to determine the exact nature of the alleged fraud.
