- "Cheese" in Alaska
- "Tomato" in California
- "Bologna" in New Mexico
The research utilized Google Trends data to analyze "how do you spell" searches across all U.S. states. According to Essay Hub researchers, many of these commonly misspelled words have different variations, making verification important for accurate documentation.
For context, Nevada hosts 315 locations with nonrestricted gaming licenses as of October 2024, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB). While residents may be familiar with casino terminology, medical terms like "seizure" prove more challenging to spell correctly.
