MGM Resorts International is exploring the possibility of implementing tiered seating charges at its Las Vegas restaurants, according to Deutsche Bank analyst Carlo Santarelli. This potential move comes as the company seeks new revenue streams amid shifting consumer behaviors and increased digital competition.

Several Las Vegas establishments already employ similar pricing strategies:

  • Top of the World at The Strat charges premium upgrades for window views
  • Paris Las Vegas's Eiffel Tower restaurant offers premium seating for Bellagio fountain views
  • Bellagio's restaurants require minimum spending for prime terrace seating

This consideration follows MGM's recent increase in resort and parking fees across all 12 of its Strip properties in December. The company has not officially commented on these potential restaurant seating changes.

In other Las Vegas dining news:

  • Carnegie Pizza will open its second location at Miracle Eats in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood
  • New York-New York will welcome Uptown Gelato from Fifth Avenue Restaurant Group
  • Montana Meat Company, a longtime Centennial Hills establishment, closed on January 1 after 20 years

Public reaction on social media has been largely negative, with many users expressing concerns about potential price gouging and the extent of these proposed seating tiers. Some accept premium charges for special views but worry about excessive implementation across all restaurant types.
